so I thought I'd see if anyone out there is interested in trying to make this happen.

A site in which hooks into Google Maps for location of places with pinball machines and which machines. The next level would be some sort of user editable database to keep the machines and their conditions up to date (broken left flipper, tilt sensitivity, 5 ball etc).

A breif look at the Google Maps site seems to indicate that we'd just need to make some sort of KML file to store the data in but I haven't gotten beyond that to figure out how easy it is and how possible it would be to make it editable and what not.

Anyone interested in trying to get this going?
Or better yet know if something like this already exists?

OK everyone - this has got to be one of the most awesome, amazing things I have ever seen. Soooo many games I had forgotten, but once I started playing, my flipper-finger memory kicked in. Gorgar, Fireball, Pinball Wizard, Capt. Fantastic, Rock Star, King Tut, Roller Disco, Pinbot (but no Xenon)...it goes on and on. This event is basically held in a warehouse stuffed floor to ceiling with machines and parts. So beautiful it almost brought me to tears...and located in Las Vegas no less - who knew?

Here is the official description from mrpinball.com:

Tim Arnold's Fun Night in Las Vegas, Nevada. Due to high demand, two nights are scheduled. Come to either or both! Fun starts are 6pm and goes until midnight, when stragglers are shot. Tim has one of the world's largest collection of pinball machines and arcade games--from 1930s to the modern games of today, hundreds of which are rebuilt to play like new and are available for free play. Free snacks and soft drinks are also provided. This event is a benefit for charity. There will be a raffle, giving away prizes and a pinball machine. This time, you can chose which charity you want your purchase to go to, the Salvation Army, or the Pinball Hall of Fame Building Fund. Bring a check made out to the one you select and get a nice tax write off. Cash is also taken as a donation. Games go off for a brief general meeting at 10 pm, when we draw the raffle winners. Plenty of free parking right next door. Children are welcome if well behaved. Bring a friend and get them hooked on pinball too. Pictures and cameras are welcome. For more information you may reach Tim at 1-702-I-FIX-PIN, or if you want your own printed invitation with directions and a secret word that will let you 'pass the troll that lives under the bridge,' contact Tim by email.
