luv the simpson's machine but now its gone. sad

original mars attacks, the new one with the video game element is interesting but really hard. no ball returns and a wicked lil ramp that shoots the ball back at ya over the flippers. whine whine.

My favorite pinball machine was/is Fun House! It came out just as I was starting college (circa 1990). I mostly played it during breaks and after work (I was a pizza slinger at the time).

    Hot points:

    * 'Rudy' the ball capturing head!
    * 'Rudy' also talked...
    * Multiple (up to 5) ball play!
    * An awesome upper playfield!

Fun House Quote: "Ride the Farris Wheel!"

Well... I'm offically geek-ed in now.

In the 70s: Kiss, Playboy & Ted Nugent
In the 80s: Terminator, Star Trek & Addams Family

Yeah, The Terminator and Star Trek were good too. I also liked Lethal Weapon and Dr Who (found that one last week at Finnegans Wake in SF.)

        There's a Terminator2 machine out here that's sweet.

Favorite classic would be Black Knight/Black Knight 2000.

Favorite newer table would be a toss-up between Attack From Mars and Addams Family ... but really, I like them all.

Junkyard. Entirely goofy. The display includes an angel (female) and devil (male) who give you advice (sitting on your shoulders?).
There's a junkyard dog sequence... the dog has a nametag... and if you get all ten junk items and become Junk Master, then whatever initials you enter go onto the dog's tag. (So I usually enter REX, although I've never known anyone who actually named a dog Rex.)
Has anyone finished the game and defeated Bob in the space battle? What happens?

Indeed! What an amazing backglass. A friend of mine has one of these in Boston, but I've never played it.

Oh, then there was *this* really hilarious machine:
"My name is Rodney and Im your host. Ride my slides to score the most !"
(Damn, I was so close to become host. One slide away..no, not close to the highest score, it was easy, but to become HOST!..damn..)

    Man, tough.
I love Superman. That was a sweet machine.
There are a bunch of pitch and hit games that I like, the Big Hit being my fave
At CAExtreme (If you know nothign about CAExtreme, go www.fanboyplanet.com/ontv/vi...rp.php), I always seem to find Future Spa and KISS.
I'd say that Taxi is my fave. It's just a fast and well done pin

Like Melanie said, Xenon, and her twin, Mars God of War. Xenon had that great orgasm whenever you "tubed" the ball up the ramp. Mars was the center of our universe for years.

I have a lot of sentiment for Pin Bot. I was so hooked on this game during college, I would sometimes stop by the student union to play a game during breaks between classes if I had time. Many Friday and Saturday evenings were also wasted on this game.

There was this laundromat in Pittsburgh that had High Speed and Comet. I got so into these games, I could play for two hours on a single quarter.

I also enjoy Star Trek, Taxi, and Addams Family.

OTOH, I think F-14 Tomcat gets the award for the most obnoxious pinball game ever -- way too many strobes and rotating lights!

Chalk another on the board for Funhouse! "Ride the Farris Wheel" It had everything, lot's of minigames, loopy ramps and that scary face thing that looked like a ventriloquist's dummy. Mr. Bungle has a song that sampled from that machine.

i am a big fan of the Star Trek: The Next Gen pinball. I was totally into the original Star Wars one with the spinning Death Star here at the pizza shop. Gotta give it up for Dr Who (but only the ones that had a popup triple chute when fighting the Daleks). Monster Madness is an awesome game and probably has the best music i've ever heard for a 'ball. Medieval Madness is pretty cool once you get the hang of it. Attack from Mars is totally awesome (esp if you can get the strobe light multiball). i dig alot of games, but there are some that i think are totally stupid and won't even bother to put my money into....

              South Park
              Dr. Who

So much pinball, so little time.

Damn! Reading this thread is taking me back...

Fun House: definitely the machine that brought me into it. Like someone else in the tribe, the pizza place I worked had the game and I got addicted. "Ride the ferris wheel!" indeed.

Adams Family: Mamooshkas and the creeking door of the coffin as Thing took your ball.

Terminator 2: "Get out!" and the sound of Arnold's buzzing chopper as the ball circled 'round back.

Star Wars: Aw, come on - you gotta throw in this classic!

But my all time favorite is GILLIGAN'S ISLAND! Whenever I played that thing baked (pretty often back in the day), I was one with the machine - I swear I hit the ramp 19 times in a row one time and my friends were freaking out!

Anyone remember Earthshaker? It's an earthquake themed machine that literally shakes during multi-ball.

I also love Fun House & Addams Family.

                Doctor Who is Aces!
                So is Medieval Madness.

But my all time fav is No Good Gophers. Anyone else play it much? The drive ramp/hole in one design was an absolute dream.

I've been playing it over at Brainwash for a few weeks now.

It's fun and the hole in one is a good challenging shot
but the chitter chatter gets a bit annoying.

I'll have to try it ... I used to hate that game. Maybe I think Caddyshack is a sacred film that didn't deserve to be ripped off.

                    Junkyard, Junkyard, Junkyard!

I played this again for the first time in years over at the Cinch this weekend.

                      Great game.

    "Welcome back!"
    "Why, thank you Thing!"

"Dirty pool old man, I like it!"
    "Now you´ve done it!"
    "Have a nice swim!"
"Keep the ball, I have a whole bucket full!"

    and, my favorite,

    "Showtime!"
